Tomorrow I wake up early to get to the hospital at 6:30 for surgery at 8:30.  I was given a scopolamine patch to put behind my ear to prevent nausea caused by the anesthesia.  I've been on a liquid pre-op diet for 10 days and am almost down 20 pounds.  Whoop whoop! Grin

I'm packing my frog slippers and Patrick Star pillow to bring to the hospital.  My surgeon has everyone stay overnight, just to make sure everything went right.  I feel like I am in good hands.  I had an EKG and chest X-ray on Thursday.  This is actually happening!

I'm doing really well.  I'm just about to whip up a paper for my ecology class that I am going to today.  My mom is driving me to class (about an hour drive) so I don't have to stay at my apartment and climb up and down the stairs and do too much walking.

I have a pretty gnarly bruise on my arm from a failed attempt at placing an IV, though.  It is kinda sweet.   Cheesy

When I went to class, I was pretty stoned on the vicodin.  Made things interesting.  I'm not taking as much vicodin and motrin as the last few days, so that's good.  Tomorrow my parents move me back into my apartment.  I can't drive yet, which is OK, since my car is still in the shop.  I'll have to take the bus for a while, but I think I will survive.  This semester is all about me getting healthy, so if my classes suffer, so be it.  I'll just be ahead if I have to retake anything.

I was doing really well today, walking to classes and whatnot, when on the way to the bus stop, I rolled my ankle and fell to the ground.  My belly is hurtin' pretty good, especially on the left side.  Skinned my knee, too.  Good times.

Owie!  I've done that so many times (lifetime klutz here), and it hurts like hell.  I hope you feel better quickly - keep tabs on the pain - it probably just gave you a jolt, but if you feel nausea or see over-bruising in your abdomen, get to the doc.  Hope you feel better soon!  How's your ankle?

Interestingly, my ankle is fine.  My side is still pretty sore.

Glad your ankle is good - I'm sure your side hurts - you just had surgery under two weeks ago - Hopefully the ache will subside quickly!

I got my first fill on Friday!  2.5 CCs in a 10 CC band.  I was surprised that it took so much pressure to get the needle into the port.  It didn't hurt at all.

I'm feeling pretty great.  I am on Spring Break this week, so I'll have to get out and do something.  It is almost bike-riding season!

Overall, I am down ~40 lb.  I stalled out a week or so ago, which was frustrating, but I keep telling myself that it happens and to just be extra careful about what I eat.

Hope everything is going well on your spring break. I am one week out today and just wondering how you are doing? What phase of diet are you on? I can start pureed foods Thursday. Have any suggestions for me?

effin and twinels-congrats on your freakiness, now rock this band!  Hmm-purees-do you gets to have carbs?  If so I'd go with creamy soups like broc and cheddar or cream of chicken or thick yummy smoothies with protein added to them.  Sheesh-now I'm hungry Cool

I'm basically on regular food.  I don't eat really fibrous stuff like steak, celery, and asparagus.  I'm a big fan of baked chicken and eggs.  Those constitute most of my protein.  I freaking LOVE eggs. Grin

I like to make little breakfast bowls.  I scramble 4 eggs and 8 whites into turkey sausage and a bag of frozen green peppers.  I dish it into 1 cup ziploc containers and freeze them.  In the morning I just nuke them for 2 minutes and maybe add a piece of 2% milk cheese.  So good.
